Captain Fashionista

Easy Riders Editorial

Easy Riders Editorial

It has come about that many trend-setters have been caught wearing this "captain" like hat. Since I do not have the correct terminology for it, I'll go ahead and just show you what I'm talking about. This new hat trend is a great way to break away from the fedora wearing crowd and what's even better, this hat is a great Fall accessory. Will you be rocking out this 60's inspired look this season?

"A man does not buy his wife a fur coat to keep her warm, but to keep her pleasant” -Seymour Hicks

Fur has been a means of luxury for years and I find it to be both beautiful to wear and amazing to style. I obviously encourage the use of faux-fur over real fur for evident reasons so we can let that matter rest. The use of fur as a material is such a great Autumn/Winter look and it will NEVER go out of style. The moment you invest in a fur item, you can be sure that you will be able ro re-wear it for years to come and possibly hand it down to your unborn child. In the form of vests, jackets, scarves, hats...Fur just brings your outfit to a luxurious level that many materials could never dream to achieve.

Fur can obviously be VERY expensive, that is why I LOVE thrift and second hand stores, because grandmas from all over the world donate their fur items! I can promise you that 1out of 3 thrift stores has the perfect fur item for you, it is inevitable.

Some of my favorite fur inspired shots:

Not Your Grandmother's Poncho

Poncho from Studded Hearts Blog, Please wear WITH pants

Chictopia Cape

My mother has always been a fan of the cape and I never really understood it until it completely morphed one of my outfits, not too long ago. No need for a jacket, just wrap yourself up in an amazing poncho/cape and your outfit has reached new heights! The Poncho/Cape look is in full swing and it is a must-do trend for this season. What better way to stay warm in style then with a wearable blanket! There are so many different ways to attack the poncho/cape, from length to design, you can achieve a number of stunning fall looks. Pair your poncho with a killer pair of knee-high boots and you've got yourself a stop&stare moment.
